27 November 2015

In terms of development and higher trade turnover, Serbia has found a way to profit from Russia's embargo that continues to restrict imports from the European Union, US, Norway, Canada and Australia, Serbian Ambassador Slavenko Terzich said.

Several types of Serbian agricultural and food exports have increased by 150 percent.

Apple exports saw a significant increase in shipments to Russia. Depending on the variation, there were some that saw increases from 80 percent to 150 percent. Prune exports also saw increases.

In the conflict between Russia and the EU, Serbia remained neutral. Terzich said that Serbia has not introduced sanctions against Russia, as the EU and the US had, and does not intend to do so in the future.
