In total, according to Isayev, quoting official stats of Russia's Federal Customs Service, over the course of nine months the Russian market received as much as US $1.9 million of produce and raw materials from Tajikistan. January to September, total shipments to Russia were 44.7 percent more than the same period in 2014.
“It is a very high indicator, but it's important to understand that we have large reserves to increase these numbers,” Isayev said.
Supplies to the Russian market between January and September amounted to 26.7 percent of Tajikistan's total exports, whereas last year it amounted to 25.5 percent. Trade turnover amounted to US $928.3 million, an increase of 21.8 percent on the previous year.
