The monetary value of imports decreased 17.5 percent, the head of the department for trade restriction and export controls of Siberia's Customs Department Marina Paramonov confirmed.
Paramonov noted that this tendency has been observed across all federal subjects of the Siberian Federal District, except for Buratia and the Omsk Oblasts, which saw a 1 percent increase in purchases.
The physical quantity of imports decreased in Trans-Baikal, Keremovo, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Altai, Buratia and Khakassia Oblasts. The quantity of supplies increased to markets in the Altai, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk and Omsk Oblasts.
According to Paramonova reviewed the situation on the Novosibirsk market, which had bought 83.5 thousand tonnes of food for a sum of US $69.4 million. The central region imported tomatoes, onions, garlic, beans, peppers chili peppers and bananas, citrus fruits, apples, pears, cherries, nectarines as well as other fruits and vegetables.
The monetary value of purchases for shipments of produce had dropped by 30 percent, whereas the volumes of supplies decreased by 32 percent on the year. During 2015, the region also purchased 3 thousand tonnes of various goods from Turkey, from which purchases amounted to US $ 6.8 million and accounted for 0.8 percent of the region's total imports. The total amount of good purchased from Turkey amounted to 8.7 percent of this import category.
