The forum's organizers held the event at the Eurasian center for food security. Deputy Agricultural Minister of Armenia Armen Arutyunyan, Deputy Agricultural Minister and Land Reclamation of Kyrgyzstan Erkinbek Choduev, representatives of other governments of post-Soviet states, experts of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and several international organizations attended.
Romashkin spoke about the condition of food security in various countries of the EAEU. The ECE is working to create conditions for the development of mutual trade and reducing member state's dependence on agricultural imports. According to the commission's representative, decreasing volumes of agricultural food products contributed to a twofold improvement in the balance of foreign trade of the union members in agricultural products.
The speaker listed the most important measures, which are aimed at ensuring food security and sustainable agricultural production, of integrating EAEC members. These include the formation of supply and demand forecasts, agricultural and old products, ensuring equal conditions of competition on the common agricultural marke, the development of mutual trade seeds, scientific and innovative cooperation.
