This appeal was caused by increases in the supply of plant products from Liberia and India. In connection with the situation, Rosselkhoznadzor has scheduled negotiations with the authorized representatives of the National Organization for Quarantine and Plant Protection of the Republic of Liberia and India.
RIA Novosti confirmed this information with the Deputy Director of Rosselkhoznadzor Aleksey Alekseyenko. "Starting Tuesday, we are cutting back on plant products from the territory of Belarus with Liberian phytosanitary certificates," he said.
He added that the Russian agency confirmed that procedures are underway to possibly prohibit re-exported Kenyan products as well.
Sergey Dankvert, head of Rosselkhoznadzor, said on Monday (March 1) that introducing restrictions at the border against products with Liberian certificates is possible.
