Production Growth Of Canned Foods Expected This Year In Kuban

The current forecast was announced by representatives of the Union called Canned Kuban, which met with the heads of regional enterprises of the canning industry to discuss issues of preparedness for the upcoming season of processed fruits and vegetables.

A press release by the Ministry of Agriculture of Krasnodar Krai also echoed the work of related facilities during the first quarter of 2014 and the preparedness of the material, technological base for the new season.

By the end of last year, Kuban's share of canned production accounted for 68 percent of the Southern Federal District and 12.3 percent of all of Russia.

In the past five years, the volume of funds invested in the capital assets of industrial companies increased 2.4 times.

According to the expectations of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Krasnodar Krai, the current season is to see a 10 percent increase in the production of canned peas, a 15 percent increase in production of canned corn, and an 18 percent increase in squash caviar production.
